Recipe Waffles Maison Valençon

Ingredients:

  • 250 g of flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 150 g of melted butter
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 20 cl of whole milk (ideally local)
  • 10 g of fresh baker's yeast
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions :

  1. Preparation of the dough :
    • Lightly warm the milk and dilute the fresh yeast in it. Let it rest for a few minutes.
    • In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar and salt.
    • Add the eggs, melted butter and vanilla extract, then gradually incorporate the milk-yeast mixture.
    • Knead the dough until it is homogeneous. It should be flexible and slightly sticky.

  2. Rest of the dough:
    • Cover the bowl with a clean tea towel and let the dough rise at room temperature for about 1 hour, until it doubles in volume.

  3. Cooking waffles:
    • Heat your waffle iron and lightly grease it if necessary.
    • Take a portion of dough (about a large tablespoon) and place it on the hot waffle iron.
    • Cook the waffles until they are golden and crispy on the outside, while remaining fluffy on the inside (about 3 to 4 minutes depending on the waffle iron).

  4. Tasting:
    • Serve the waffles still hot with icing sugar, melted chocolate, or simply plain to appreciate all their authenticity.

Tips:

  • You can customise this recipe by adding chocolate chips, hazelnut chips or a little cinnamon for an even more gourmet touch.
  • For an even more authentic version, use farm milk and local products, as we do at Maison Valençon.

Enjoy your meal! With this recipe, you will find all the know-how of Maison Valençon in every bite, combining tradition and greed.
