Recipe Waffles Maison Valençon
Ingredients:
- 250 g of flour
- 2 eggs
- 150 g of melted butter
- 100 g of sugar
- 20 cl of whole milk (ideally local)
- 10 g of fresh baker's yeast
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions :
- Preparation of the dough :
- Lightly warm the milk and dilute the fresh yeast in it. Let it rest for a few minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar and salt.
- Add the eggs, melted butter and vanilla extract, then gradually incorporate the milk-yeast mixture.
- Knead the dough until it is homogeneous. It should be flexible and slightly sticky.

- Cover the bowl with a clean tea towel and let the dough rise at room temperature for about 1 hour, until it doubles in volume.

- Cooking waffles:
- Heat your waffle iron and lightly grease it if necessary.
- Take a portion of dough (about a large tablespoon) and place it on the hot waffle iron.
- Cook the waffles until they are golden and crispy on the outside, while remaining fluffy on the inside (about 3 to 4 minutes depending on the waffle iron).
- Tasting:
- Serve the waffles still hot with icing sugar, melted chocolate, or simply plain to appreciate all their authenticity.
Tips:
- You can customise this recipe by adding chocolate chips, hazelnut chips or a little cinnamon for an even more gourmet touch.
